How to chop an onion quickly and safely

I’ve timed myself. I am capable of peeling and chopping an onion in 30 seconds. And I mean the right way not just hacking at it. It’s a super simple process that everyone should know because it seems like I’m chopping onions constantly, and I can’t be the only one.

And yes, I have a bonus for you. It’s yet another kitchen trick I use all the time.

I just learned that technique recently! I have to remember to grab the chef knife though. I'm always grabbing the smaller one.

Get your chef's knife. My husband likes to try to cut and chop with a paring knife, and it drives me nuts because it's dangerous when a knife is too small for the job.
