Fifteen years ago, you probably wouldn’t stay in Boston’s Seaport neighborhood, but if you haven’t been to Boston lately, you don’t know what you’re missing. The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport blends modern luxury with Boston’s rich artistic and cultural roots for an absolutely fantastic stay.
I had the opportunity to stay at the Boston Omni as part of a press trip where I experienced a Patron Tower room, meals at the majority of the restaurants on site, and two spa treatments at Breve. This is definitely a hotel I would come back to when visiting Boston.

Why You’ll Want to Stay Here
Boston’s Seaport District has quickly transformed into one of the city’s hottest areas, and the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport puts you right in the middle of it all. The hotel just opened in 2021, and with 1,054 rooms, it’s one of the city’s largest. Thanks to its thoughtful design, it doesn’t feel anywhere near that big in part because there are so many separate areas and spaces to gather.
The hotel’s design is a nod to Boston’s deep artistic and cultural history. Each Omni Hotel takes the culture of its city and weaves it into everything from the decor to the names and more.
At the front desk, you’ll see a living artwork that never changes, and the hotel offers live jazz Thursdays to Saturdays, often with students from Berklee. There are also sculptures, murals, and installations from local artists woven throughout the property, and you can scan a QR code by the concierge to go on your own self-guided art tour.
The Omni has a full-service spa, a rooftop pool, and multiple dining options, so you might not even feel the need to leave. But if you do, you’ll find so much to enjoy just steps away, whether you have business at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, want to visit the Institute of Contemporary Art, or explore the waterfront that’s lined with some of the best dining in the city.
It’s Conveniently Located
While the Omni Boston is not in Boston proper, it’s a quick Uber ride from the airport. It took me less than ten minutes to get there and back again after my stay.
It’s an easy walk to multiple T stops and bus stops, which makes it easy to access all of the traditional Boston touristy visits you want to make. There are so many different neighborhoods in Boston that you can’t stay in a location where you can walk to all of them.
Side note: I was also in Boston in November where I participated in a couple different food and other tours. If you have the time, you absolutely must do the Boston donut tour, as this is one of my favorite food tours I’ve ever done.
The Omni is also just across the street from the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. If you’re in town for a convention, this is the place to stay.
Outside that, the Seaport neighborhood has completely changed over the past 15 years. There’s now so much to see and do there that it makes staying here a great option.
The Institute of Contemporary Art is an easy walk from the hotel and worth a visit. And if you enjoy wandering, the Boston Harbor Walk offers miles of paths along the harbor for walking, biking, and running.
You also have access to countless restaurants and parks, as well as the Boston Children’s Museum, the Museum of Ice Cream, Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, and so much more. You’ll never be bored.
Patron Tower vs. Artist Tower: What’s the Difference?
One of the unique features of the Omni Boston at the Seaport is that it offers two distinct hotel experiences in its Patron Tower and Artist Tower. The room designs, features, and pricepoints are aimed at two very different travelers.
The Patron Tower is a more traditional luxury hotel experience. The rooms are larger, with a classic design that includes marble bathrooms and space to stretch out.
You can book both two queens or a king-size bed in the standard room type, just as you expect with most hotel options. These rooms are aimed at the modern traveler, and there are a multitude of both USB and traditional plugs throughout the room.
The Patron Tower also has suite options with a separate bedroom and seating area. They are larger and gorgeous rooms, and if you’re staying for an extended period, this is a great way to enjoy your visit to Boston.
The Artist Tower is aimed at solo travelers, both business and leisure, and it’s a brilliant concept. The rooms are less expensive than those in the Patron Tower, and while they are smaller in footprint, their smart design works well for one person or a couple.
The rooms in the Artist Tower offer only a king bed or a one queen bed. There are no options for two queen beds, which makes sense given the room’s layout.
The Artist Tower also comes with a special amenity with their NOBULL partnership that provides guests with the complimentary loan of workout clothing and gear, so you don’t have to pack as much. My favorite part is that the coffee maker is actually in the hallway but includes all kinds of specialty coffees and not just the typical Keurig pod.
Don’t Miss the Top-Rated Spa
If you’ve ever thought about visiting a spa on vacation, the Breve Spa, location in the Omni Boston is the one you want to visit. It made the Spas of America Top 100 spas list in 2024, which covers the best of the best in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This is a big deal.
I was able to visit the spa when I stayed at the Omni Boston, and it was a true treat. I experienced both the sound immersion experience and a deep tissue massage. Other press had the opportunity to try the antioxidant seaweed bodhy treatment, and we all agreed that the entire spa was top notch.
If you’ve never done a sound immersion, this treatment typically takes place in your room where an attendant provides you with a guided meditation as you have a variety of tonal frequencies played on various instruments and bowls. It’s incredibly relaxing and is great for those who don’t enjoy being touched.
The deep tissue massage was done on a warmed bed by a masseuse who provided exactly what I needed and listened to my requests. Though I had only 30 minutes, I could have stayed there all day.
I loved the small touches, too. After my massage was over, they offered my my choice of champagne, mimosa, or juice, then they brought me to a relaxation room where I could spend as much time as I wanted there with light snacks, my mimosa, and a fridge with additional water options.
It was a great way to end my spa experience while still in the super comfy robe. The spa offers so much more, too, from makeup and hair to facials and other special body treatments that may keep you from ever leaving the hotel.
Amazing Restaurant Options
The Omni Boston at the Seaport includes seven on-site dining options that range from grab-and-go coffee to fine dining. I may have tried three different versions of lobster rolls from three different restaurants while there, and I loved every one.
It doesn’t matter what your mood, you’re sure to find a restaurant that matches what you’re looking for. Even though the hotel has over 1,000 rooms, the restaurants are set up to still make you feel comfortable and like you’re in a smaller space than you are.
Lifted is their rooftop restaurant and bar, which is where we had our first meal. Definitely order the salted caramel lobster roll. It doesn’t sound like it would work, but this may be one of the best lobster rolls I’ve ever eaten.
The restaurant leads straight out to their rooftop pool – one of the only ones in Boston – which lets you take your daytime chill into the night. The views are amazing, and their cocktail menu isn’t one to miss either.
Kestra is open all day with a unique breakfast that offers both traditional fare as well as a Turkish breakfast option I chose that came about from the Turkish Airlines crew that frequent the hotel. They offer dishes with a Mediterranean fare for dinner, as well.
Even more fun? Kestra is a jazz lounge on weekend evenings with live music from local jazz musicians from 7-10pm every Thursday to Saturday. It makes a great environment to enjoy a cocktail and your dinner.
We enjoyed The Sporting Club at lunch, but it is open until midnight or 1am, depending on the day, which makes it a great spot for a late night bite. The small plates and full dishes were equally delicious here, and the vibe is on point.
I loved the trophy room that has legit trophies donated by everyone from the hotel’s winning softball team to bowling and fishing trophies from the early 1900s and more. Take some time to peruse them just to smile at the unique winnings.
Cocorico is a delicious boulangerie, which means they actually make their pastries and other baked goods on site (aside from some of the gluten-free options). This grab and go coffee bar and more is centrally located in the lobby and definitely worth a stop.
I enjoyed their chai, as well as a breakfast sandwich that kept me full to lunch. You do have the option of enjoying your food with the small tables in the spot, but everything comes wrapped up to go so you can head out to enjoy your day and your breakfast if you choose.
While we didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy a meal at Coquette, we did walk through the restaurant, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. It offers fresh seafood and a raw bar, Capri-style pizzas, and the hearty meat dishes you dream about.
They currently also offer a weekend brunch, and I’ve been told they are introducing a tea option. The setting is perfect for both of these, and I would recommend them whether you stay at the hotel or not.
Crescendo is located in the lobby and is primarily a bar, with small bites for a menu. Legato counts as a restaurant, but it’s a fully automated store with everything you may need from phone chargers to ice cream. Just tap your card to enter, and you’re automatically charged for what you purchase as you leave.
Yes, They Even Have a Rooftop Pool
The views in a big city are always a major benefit, and a rooftop pool is a fantastic way to enjoy them. Very few hotels in Boston have on, but the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is one of them.
Located on the 5th-floor, it is open year round with both a heated pool and hot tub. The jaw-dropping view is open only for hotel guests, and there is limited occupancy.
In fact, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, guests need to make a reservation for a lounge chair. If you know you want to enjoy it, submit your request with your hotel reservation number as soon as you know what day and time you want to relax there.
Make Sure You Join Their Loyalty Program
While you pretty much always want to join a hotel’s loyalty program when you stay at a property, the Omni Hotel brand makes it really worth your while. Sign up before you check in for all the perks, though these two are my favorites.
The Select Guest program provides you with a coupon for a complimentary beverage at one of their bars when you check in. You can also use it at Cocorico, their coffee shop, but I recommend heading up to Lifted and ordering the salted watermelon, which is a watermelon margarita that comes with a split of sparkling rose.
The loyalty program also provides you with complimentary wifi during your stay. I don’t think any of us go anywhere without access to the internet anymore, so don’t pay for it if you don’t have to!
Are You Ready to Book Yet?
I absolutely loved my stay at the Omni Boston at the Seaport. The thoughtful inclusion of the history of Boston music and art throughout made it a unique experience, and the amenities are top-tier.
I loved my room – and the chaise lounge where I enjoyed working during my stay – as well as every meal I tried in each restaurant. It’s easy to see why this has quickly become one of the most talked-about hotels in Boston.
Take my advice, and book your stay. You’ll love this hotel as much as I did.
