18 of 2025’s Most Unique Advent Calendars

I grew up getting an Advent calendar every year, and it was the same plastic-tasting chocolate in the little squares where the biggest choice was which image of Santa or Frosty or gingerbread man did I want this year. Oh how things have changed, and I love it – which is why I’ve collected my favorite and the most unique Advent calendars of 2025.

Advent calendars are no longer just for kids. They go far beyond chocolate, too, with things for pretty much every interest whether you love crafting or tea or chocolate that actually tastes good.

The more creative Advent calendars tend to sell out quickly, so don’t wait until December 1 to get yours. Many of these are limited in quantity, though several will also have Black Friday sales if you want to chance it.

These are all Advent calendars that you can find easily, most online at the company websites. Some brands you may have heard of, while others may be new to you, but I have collected and tested each one out, and I whole-heartedly endorse each and every one.

Let’s just say there are some very happy people in my family right now. I love how you can find the right calendar to fit each individual personality, so here’s hoping you find the right ones here yourself.

I did receive many of these Advent calendars as samples from the brands. All opinions – as always – remain my own.

Tequila Advent Calendar

Tequila Advent Calender Product with a bottle of repadado held by a hand.

If your holidays need a little pick me up, this Advent calendar from GiveThemBeer.com may hit the spot. The company has a number of different themes available, and the 12 Days of Tequila contains 12 mini bottles of various types of tequila. They’re just enough to share each night, whether you enjoy it over rocks or mixed up in a margarita.

You may be familiar with some of the brands, you’re sure to find something new to enjoy with the options ranging from Flecha Azul tequila blanco to Hornitos tequila reposado to Herradura tequila anejo, as all three types of tequila are well represented.

Wicked: For Good – Advent Calendar 2025

A hand holds a chocolate with a blue design in front of a "Wicked For Good" Advent calendar featuring Glinda and Elphaba from the musical Wicked.

If you have a Wicked fan in your house, you’re probably counting down the minutes until you can see the sequel (again), and this calendar is for you. The art on the exterior is gorgeous, and inside you’ll find 24 handcrafted chocolates.

This calendar from Compartes makes all their chocolates by hand in small batches in their Los Angeles facility. You can see the difference with these delicious chocolates, each decorated with an image related to the movie from a flying monkey to Glinda’s bubbles, and the flavors in the Wicked Advent calendar are just as creative and unique.

Cost: $119.95 and free shipping

Sparkling Wine Advent Calendar

A blue box labeled "Sparkling Wine Advent Calendar" sits beside a small bottle of Ruffino Lumina Prosecco, making it a festive addition to Advent calendars, all displayed on a cream-colored fabric background.

There’s just something special about a little bubbly that makes the holidays special. This fun calendar includes 12 mini splits of 187ml that include different wineries’ offerings of prosecco, rose, brut, and cuvee for you to enjoy. It’s the perfect size to enjoy – possibly with just one piece of chocolate from another calendar?

This makes a great gift, as well, especially if you pair it with flutes. I’ve taste-tested a few bottles already, and I loved the selections, especially the Ruffino Lumino prosecco rose, something I never would have found or tried on my own.

Pancake the Penguin’s Christmas Adventure

A white box with story cards labeled "Day 1" and "Day 2" stands upright on a light-colored fabric surface, evoking the charm of Advent calendars with its daily surprises and printed text.

I bought this Advent calendar for my kid the second I saw it when wandering the streets of Boston. I walked into the LovePop store and knew this is exactly what my penguin-obsessed child would love. It’s reusable, so you can buy it once and use it again and again.

Each day, you open an envelope that tells part of Pancake’s adventure and also includes a popup cardstock figure (or two) that adds to the Christmas scene. LovePop makes a variety or Advent calendars in this style from Disney to Harry Potter to Santa’s Workshop to the Nativity and more, so you can find one to fit your personality.

Where to get it: Amazon or from a LovePop store or their website

Cost: varies, but I purchased it for under $20

12 Nights of Cocktails

Straightaway Cocktails has created their second annual Advent calendar with 12 different cocktails in cans to make them easy to store and enjoy. Pop the top and enjoy a single serving from this craft cocktail shop in Portland, Oregon – and if you live locally, you can pick up your Advent calendar from their shop.

They take craft cocktails seriously, which means they source their ingredients carefully (including my favorite Stumptown Coffee) and blend many of their own spirits like the gin for the Last Word. You can find even more information about each cocktail, where its ingredients were sourced, and how to best serve it on their website via a lookbook.

2025 Haut-Chocolat Advent Calendar

An open advent calendar decorated with giraffes, a chandelier, and tropical plants features three chocolates placed on a gold tray in front—a whimsical twist on traditional Advent calendars.

If you’re looking for a luxe Advent calendar, this is the one. The images cannot do it justice, and the chocolates inside? Oh my.

I first discovered Vosges Chocolate early in my working career when I would walk over to their retail location once a week or so to get a truffle as a special treat. A dear friend of mine from childhood is Belgian through and through (yes, I met her when I lived there), and she recently discovered Vosges and firmly believes that they are every bit as good as any Belgian chocolatier in her country.

Now Vosges has grown and expanded their offerings to include their tenth annual Advent calendar that is a true work of art designed as a keepsake to enjoy year after year. This massive three dimensional calendar has the theme of Le Jardin de Cacao this year, and it lights up and plays three of my favorite Christmas carols via USB-C rechargeable battery (yep, you get the charger and charging block in the box).

That doesn’t even begin to touch upon the actual high-end chocolate. Each drawer contains a different specialty from Vosges, and it isn’t just one small piece either. You’ll find multiple pieces to savor each day and share with your family from toffee to the mushrooms I ran out of time to buy the last time I was in France to wild blackberry truffles.

This is not the cheap, plastic chocolate I used to have as an Advent calendar, and it’s designed as a special indulgence that is worth the high price tag. I am doing my best to savor the chocolates here, but I can also tell you that this gorgeous statement piece of an Advent calendar is going to be the centerpiece on the table for all my holiday gatherings.

If you have a previous year’s Advent calendar, they sell a refill option for $175 that includes the same chocolates as the 2025 Vosges Advent calendar so you can refill the drawers. And if you want something at a lower price point, they also offer a 12 Days of Chocolate collection for $100 that’s meant more for one person, available starting November 20.

DM Snacks 24 Days of Nuts & Snacks Advent Calendar

A hand holding a silver package, reminiscent of the treats found in Advent calendars.

Is it just me, or do you find yourself snacking more during the holidays? This fun calendar has 24 different single serving bags for you to satisfy your cravings. Each day has something different, and some are sweet (like trail mix) while most are nuts or savory snacks with fun flavors including dill pickle and guacamole.

The silver bags are not labeled, so you can keep it as a surprise each day as you open them, if you choose. The back of the box has a sheet that discloses what each item is and the nutritional information if you are less adventurous – like me – and want to know ahead of time what you’re getting. The different snacks were tasty and definitely varied, so I never felt like I was getting the same thing again and again, especially in this season filled with sweets.

Where to get it: Amazon or the DM Snacks website

Cost: varies but under $60 on Amazon currently

12 Days of Christmas Calendar – Vodka or Champagne

A hand holds a small vial in front of an Advent calendar labeled "12 Days of Christmas in Vodka or Champagne," with numbered ornaments on a tree. This unique take on Advent calendars promises festive sips throughout the holiday season.

Meliora Forever is another fabulous small business that hand crafts their products. In this case, they create instant cocktail cubes to flavor your drinks, and it’s such a fun concept withe each of the twelve doors hiding a unique flavor you cannot buy outside the Advent calendar.

They make versions for whiskey and for gin, as well, but I prefer vodka or champagne, so this is perfect for me. To use them, you add the cubes to a splash of warm water and muddle them until they dissolve then add the alcohol – and in some cases, mixers – to create two single or one double drink with each. You could also make these alcohol-free by using sparkling water for the flavor if you prefer.

Door County Coffee Advent Calendar

A festive Door County Coffee Advent Calendar box featuring trees and snow sits beside a packet labeled "Black Gold Roast," making it a perfect addition to your holiday collection of Advent calendars.

If you’re from the Midwest, you’ve probably heard of Door County. If not, trust me that it’s somewhere you want to visit, and I finally did for the first time earlier this spring where I visited Door County Coffee.

Oh. My. They had quite literally the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life, and this woman-owned business roasts and flavors their high-quality beans in house. Yes, I brought some home with me, and yes, I’m ridiculously excited about the 24 different flavors hiding behind the doors, each enough to brew a full pot of coffee.

It’s the holidays and we’re all busy and there’s minimal sunlight, so of course we need caffeine. Their flavors are not sprayed on; instead the beans are flavored while they’re still warm from roasting so they can absorb them completely and evenly.

Where to get it: Door County Coffee

Cost: $65.99 and free shipping

Nutcracker Tea Advent Calendar

An open Advent calendar with numbered doors, Christmas-themed illustrations, and one slot revealing a packet labeled "white angels"—perfect for those who cherish unique Advent calendars.

If tea is more up your alley than coffee, you’ll love this offering from Adagio Teas. They smartly offer the calendar in loose leaf, teabags, and lose leaf decaf versions to fit your favorite way to brew tea and enjoy a cup of tea each day for 24 days leading up to Christmas.

They are unique and fun flavors that I don’t often see elsewhere from reindeer fuel (black tea, ginger, peppermint leaves, toasted mate tea, cocoa nibs, natural chocolate flavor, and ginger) to maple creme oolong and white pear. I could not pick a favorite, but I’ll admit that some of them I brewed more than once and was able to enjoy a second (or third) mug of tastiness.

Where to get it: Adagio Teas

Cost: $34 for each variety with free shipping for orders over $50

12 Nights from Coopers Hawk

A festive "12 Nights" holiday wine gift set inspired by Advent calendars, featuring a decorated box, bottle of wine, and a card for a complimentary wine club membership—beautifully displayed against a light fabric background.

The 12 Nights Advent calendar from Coopers Hawk Winery has an extra gift within the Advent calendar. And it’s perfect for last minute because you can pick this up at any Cooper’s Hawk location across the country rather than just ordering it online.

It comes in a heavy box that is beautifully packaged, including a gold envelope attached to the lid that you don’t want to miss. Inside there are the tasting notes for each of the wines to help you understand what you’re imbibing, and there’s also a bonus gift of three months of a free one bottle wine club membership at Cooper’s Hawk that you can use for yourself or give someone else – which is essentially a $75 value.

The 12 Nights gift set includes 9 reds and three whites in beautiful, holiday-themed half bottles. It’s a great way to try new options, all of which are exclusive vintages from their Wine Club. And if you join the wine club, you get $20 off the 12 Nights package, too.

Where to get it: Cooper’s Hawk restaurant and tasting room locations

Cost: $139.99 and $20 off if you are or become a Wine Club member

Little People BIG DREAMS Advent Calendar

A hand holds a card labeled "Usain Bolt" in front of Advent calendars with numbered doors in shades of pink, green, red, and black.

If you’re looking for a feel good Advent calendar for your kids, this is it. It has a great wow factor, as the calendar itself is 17 inches tall with the books inside envelopes within the exterior that opens like a book itself.

Each book focuses on a different inspirational figure from across the globe with the story of that person’s life. The books are much smaller, and older parents may need to get out their readers to discern some of the text, but the books are entertaining and engaging with fantastic artwork to illustrate each portion of the individual’s life, making this something to enjoy year round, not just once.

Where to get it: Amazon

Cost: varies but usually around $25

12 Days of Pickles Advent Calendar

A box labeled “12 Days of Pickles” resembles quirky advent calendars, featuring numbered doors and a small bottle of pickle-flavored drink beside it, all set against a white fabric background.

You know that dill pickle is one of the trendy flavors, and I am absolutely here for it. While you might suspect that the 12 Days of Pickle calendar showcases 12 different varieties of pickles (and I would fully support that), this calendar instead goes with the pickle-flavored items theme.

Each day has a different product to enjoy, and they aren’t necessarily what you expect – and for me that makes it even more fun. I loved the pickle lip balm just for its utter quirkiness, and the pickle jerky was a tasty treat I haven’t seen elsewhere. This is definitely a fun way to surprise the pickle lover in your life.

Where to get it: GiveThemBeer.com (yep, they really do have a variety of options)

Cost: $89 + $15 shipping

LEGO Star Wars Calendar

LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar box, set 75418, brings the fun of Advent calendars to fans with festive Star Wars mini-figures and decorations for ages 6+, featuring 263 pieces and 24 daily gifts.

Every year for more years than I can count, I have gotten my son the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar. Every year, he’s delighted to open up the little boxes to discover what new minifigs he gets inside.

I will admit that there were a couple years I didn’t get it for him because he was so excited that he opened the entire calendar in one day, but… so what? He was just that happy with it, and that’s what matters.

Not surprisingly, LEGO offers a variety of Advent Calendar themes if you don’t have a Star Wars fan at home, where you can choose your favorite obsession from Harry Potty to LEGO Friends to Disney Frozen and more. Each year is different, so there’s always something fun and new to find.

Where to get it: Amazon or other retailers from LEGO to Costco

Cost: Around $45

Christmas Tree Building Block Advent Calendar

A festive Advent calendar box with numbered drawers, a sheet of stickers, a small decorated box, and a plastic bag with candies displayed in front—perfect for fans of Advent calendars.

If you or your child isn’t into LEGOs or wants something a little less expensive, this set is a fun and creative way to create a Christmas-themed build. Each box within the Advent calendar contains a bag with the correct blocks to create a small model that adds to the scene or rebuild the blocks into a much larger Christmas tree.

There are 701 bricks within the kit, and you can disassemble them to reuse again each year. The bricks are somewhat small, so this is probably best for kids who have some experience building – or an adult who is willing to “help” along the way.

Where to get it: Amazon

Cost: Around $25

Bonne Maman Advent Calendar

An Advent calendar with numbered doors and festive illustrations, opened to reveal small jars of Bonne Maman preserves inside—a delightful twist on traditional Advent calendars.

I absolutely adore the Bonne Maman Advent calendar, and I know I’m not alone. I managed to finagle a couple jars from last year’s calendar from a friend of mine, and they disappeared so fast in my house.

This year, I got my own calendar, and I am so excited about the new and fun flavors in each 28 gram jar, especially the two different apricot varieties, but every flavor I see, I can’t wait to taste. This will not last long in my house.

The jars are inside beautiful cardboard boxes that have messages behind them, and I plan to save the boxes and refill them next year with different treats. I know this Advent calendar sells out ever year, so get yours before it does.

Where to get it: Bonne Maman

Cost: $54.99 with free shipping if you order two

Toy to the World Advent Calendar

Open advent calendar with numbered compartments, some open to reveal small boxes and colorful packages on a decorated background featuring candy and mechanical illustrations.

When my kids went to college, I realized that I needed a hobby since there were no more activities or games to go to or long conversations about nonsense or late night movies. I decided on crocheting, and because I have the attention span of a squirrel, amigurimi are all I want to crochet because they’re satisfying to finish in a short amount of time.

Woobles is the go to for fun amigurimi crochet designs with everything for penguins for that penguin-obsessed child to a collab with Elyse Myers (who I’m obsessed with). Even if you’ve never crocheted before, this is a perfect craft Advent calendar, as the yarn is designed to make it easy for beginners, and every project has a video to follow along with.

The calendar includes four full-sized Wooble kits, six accessory kits, a custom crochet hook, a custom tin, and two surprises that I won’t spoil. I admit that I was hoping the accessories would be clothing for the full-size Woobles, but I’m not mad that they’re toys.

Where to get it: The Woobles

Cost: $175 (though it’s currently on sale!) + free shipping

WSJ Wine 2025 Advent Calendar

A festive advent calendar shaped like a decorated mansion stands beside a small bottle of Bombay Sapphire gin and an informational card listing drinks.

While you might think of news when you think of the WSJ, they have branched out in recent years, including their wine club that finds quality wines in a variety of styles from vineyards around the world. In addition to the wine club, you can purchase trios and cases on a one off basis, and at the holidays, their Advent calendar that always sells out.

This year’s Advent calendar comes in an adorable house with twenty-four 187ml bottles hidden behind doors on the front side. The calendar includes 14 reds, eight whites, a rose, and a processco that allow you to taste and explore varietals you may not already know to perhaps find a new favorite.

I appreciate the fact that this isn’t your everyday wine. You’ll find white bordeaux, something I tried and loved while in France this summer, as well as gruner veltliner and garnacha, varietals that go beyond your typical wine store offerings.

The calendar also includes a booklet with tasting notes to help you enjoy each and every one of the bottles. Not only does it provide tasting notes and information about each bottle, but it also includes pairing suggestions and tips for how to serve and taste the wine.

Where to get it: WSJ Wine

Cost: $159.99 with free shipping

A collage of unique Advent calendars—featuring coffee, snacks, pickles, tea, vodka, mini books, and wine—surrounds a central banner highlighting the top Advent calendars for Christmas.
